Riders of all groups, clubs, associations and independents! The South Carolina Military Museum is proud to sponsor on November 12th, 2016 the Welcome Home to Carolina Yellow Ribbon Ride as part of the Vietnam War Commemoration. 982 Riders and Passengers are needed to register to be a “Yellow Ribbon Rider” and carry a yellow ribbon with the name of a fallen KIA/MIA SC hero from the Vietnam War. Registration begins online on Tuesday, August 30th, 2016 and the requested minimum donation is only $10 to have the honor of carrying one of these ribbons. You can also go to the SC Military Museum on Bluff Road and register. The ride will begin at Spirit Communications Park and will be a police escorted ride to the National Guard Complex off of Bluff Road. There will then be a ceremony where the names are read and the ribbons are placed in a Vietnam era locker, sealed, and then placed in the museum. Afterwards there will be a BBQ cook out. This is open to everyone! We need at least 982 to be ribbon riders, but if more show that will be great! Keep an eye on the website! We need everyone to register so we can keep a count of registered Yellow Ribbon Riders!
