Taste of Folly 2019

January 18th: Cannon Distillery Cocktail Competiton, 7 pm at Tides. $20 in advance. $25 at the door.
January 19th: Taste of Folly Street Festival, 10 am to 4 pm on Center Street. $5 in advance and at the door. Free for Folly residents and kids 12 and under.
Taste of Folly will showcase everything Folly with a special emphasis on our eclectic culinary scene. On Friday night, the 18th, we will kick off the festivities with the Cannon Distillery Cocktail Competition featuring craft cocktails from Folly establishments. On Saturday, the restaurants will take to Center Street to serve up their best dishes and exhibit their skills through live demonstrations. A chili cook off, hot dog eating, oyster shocking, and server Olympics will add some fun competition throughout the day.
Cannon Distillery Cocktail Competition, January 18th, 7 pm to 10 pm @ Tides:
Taste craft cocktails made by the Folly restaurants and bars and vote for your favorite. $20 admission in advance, $25 at the door. Admission includes a free 5 oz sample of all cocktails.
The festival will run from 10 am to 4 pm on January 19th. Admission is $5 – purchase in advance or pay at the door. Folly residents (must show valid drivers license) and kids 12 and under are free.
Enjoy $5 Deep Eddy Vodka cocktails at all of the participating restaurants.

Crosby’s Oyster Shucking Contest:
Back for it’s second year, come show off your shucking skills during prime oyster season, starting at 11 am on the Ashley Stage.
Bert’s Market Hot Dog Eating Contest:
On the Ashley stage starting at 12:00, this is some great entertainment on a January afternoon. Free to enter, sign up in advance online or at Bert’s Market or the day of the event. Prizes given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.
Chili Cook Off:
A Taste of Folly tradition, the Chili Cook Off will feature individuals from around the region. Running from 11 am to 3 pm on Center Street while supplies last. $5 per person to taste and vote. $20 to enter – open to the public. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
Ever run through tires with a tray of drinks? Nothing easy about it. Folly waiters will perform their customary duties while going through obstacle courses. Several heats will be scheduled throughout the day. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
Taste will have three (3) stages showcasing Folly musicians at Ashley, East Erie & Huron. Featuring:

Check out the Kids Kitchen by Good Clean Fun with Pots & Pans Percussion, Soapy Sudsy Kitchen, and pasta making. There will also be free inflatables for jumping fun and culinary-inspired arts and crafts with the Folly Beach Library.
