Dan Boyce Memorial Poker Run

July 30, 2016 @ 11:00 am - 8:00 pm

This year, our fund raising benefactor is Jason Laymon. Jason is the 34-year-old son of Robert and Eugenia Laymon. Eugenia has been an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for eight years.  She has been a dedicated employee with Lexington County EMS, making a difference in the lives of complete strangers, for the last six years. 100% of the NET funds raised will go to transplant fund for Jason Laymon.

At the age of three, Jason fell ill with a virus that attacked his Pancreas. He has been on an insulin pump since the age of 9. In 2015 Jason’s doctor discovered he was in Renal Failure and was placed on a transplant list for a kidney and pancreas. Jason’s condition worsened and had emergency dialysis surgery, which put him on the priority transplant list. He now does peritoneal dialysis every night at home.

Jason is married to Crystal and they have twin daughters.  He is fighting for his life to live long enough to see them grow up into beautiful women.

Organ transplants are very expensive. This transplant is estimated to cost $480,000.00.  In this case, insurance only covers 70% of the medical cost after a $5,000.00 deductible is met. A suitable kidney donor has been found. The Laymon family has covered most of the donor’s expenses as well.

The Fire and Iron Firefighters Motorcycle Club is honored to assist this family.  We are asking for the public’s support so we all can help save Jason’s life for his family, especially Hannah and Hailey. For those that cannot attend and wish to donate, your donation will be accepted via PayPal at 115FIMC@gmail.com (Friends and Family).  Please place “Jason Laymon Donation” in the notes and keep him in your prayers!

CarolinaCycles.com will be at this event with our prize wheel spinning.
