Memorial Mission Vietnam Commemoration Ceremony COLUMBIA, South Carolina – 05 May 2017ABOUT THE MISSION: The South Carolina Combat Veteran’s Group from Dorn VA Hospital has once again invited the ALR, PGR and other motorcycle groups to escort their motorcade as they stand for a wreath laying and short ceremony on this special day. They ask all motorcycle groups to come and show support to them on the day they have set aside to honor their comrades and spend time with each other. This is the 12th Annual Vietnam Veterans Survivor’s and Remembrance Day Program. This event started in Columbia as “Vietnam Survivor’s Day” fifteen years ago, however in 2006 it became an official South Carolina Day of Remembrance. The program will be held on May 5, 2017 at 10:00 A.M in Memorial Park. The ceremony is in memory of the brave South Carolinians whose service to this country ended with the ultimate sacrifice and for those who survived and continue to serve. They will start with a LEO escorted motorcade from the Dorn VA Medical Center to the Memorial Wall. This year motorcycles will continue to have a safer place to park at the bottom of the hill rather than the sloping parking lot.
